News: Heritage Open Days Sat 13 Sept 2025

The theme for this year’s Heritage Open Days is architecture. At 11am on 13 September, Michael Johnson is giving a talk at Durham Cathedral on the life and work of William George Footitt (1865-1936), an architectural draughtsman and senior assistant to Charles Hodgson Fowler, architect to Durham Cathedral. Durham Castle is also open self-guided with free entry on 13 September 11am – 3:15pm (last admission).
