Halloween at Durham Castle

Join us this Halloween for an exciting quest around Durham Castle!

Guided by the mysterious Grey Lady, children will explore the castle by lantern light to help the restless spirit of Angus the Scottish Soldier find peace. Through riddles, crafts, and interactive storytelling, young visitors will uncover clues, solve mysteries, and learn about the castle’s fascinating history — all while avoiding the mischievous ghosts that haunt its halls.

Tours run at 2pm and 3.30pm

Your family tour will include:

  • Spine-tingling stories
  • Halloween inspired crafts in the Great Hall
  • The chance to meet characters from the darker side of Durham Castle
  • Fun interactive activities

Fancy dress is encouraged so wear your best Halloween outfit and join us!
