The three witches, from a performance of Macbeth by Castle Theatre Company. Every summer a Shakespeare play is performed in the Fellows Garden. The 2009 and 2010 performances subsequently went on tour in the UK and USA.
Castle Day, held in June, is an occasion when members of the college celebrate the end of exams and, usually, fine summer weather.

'Formals' as they are known, bring together the college's three common rooms. 'High table', slightly elevated from the rest of the hall, comprises the members of the Senior Common Room and their guests, and sometimes members of the Middle Common Room as well. The hierarchical seating arrangement echoes the way the hall would have been used for banquets by the Durham Prince Bishops.
The Great Hall, now the college dining hall, feeds approximately 300 people a day, serving close to 1000 meals. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings during term times, these are formal meals.
